While the number of cattle consigned to go to market at this week’s sale was back this week, there was no shortage of people, with the laneways filled to the brim.
The regular buyers, feedlotters and backgrounders were in attendance, competing for just over 6,000 head.
Cattle travelled from as far afield as Alice Springs and across Queensland to go under the hammer, with the selection and quality of the yarding once again solidifying the Roma Saleyards as the marketplace of choice.
Across the Maranoa supply district, cattle were drawn from Amby, Injune, Jackson, Mitchell, Mungallala, Roma and Yuleba.
The yarding also came from Condamine and Wandoan in the eastern areas of Queensland, from St George, Thallon and Westmar in the south and from Augathella, Cunnamulla, Longreach, Thargomindah and Windorah in the western regions.
