Temperatures were high at this week’s sale and so too was the yarding, with just over 9,500 head of cattle penned.
This week’s mammoth yarding saw an increase of over 5,900 head of cattle recorded on last week’s sale, once again solidifying the Roma Saleyards as being the marketplace of choice.
The market was very strong, with the regular buyers, feedlotters and backgrounders in attendance competing for quality pens of cattle which hailed from near and far.
Cattle were drawn from the local Maranoa supply district including Injune, Muckadilla, Roma, Surat and Wallumbilla, and from the western regions of Augathella, Bedourie, Boulia, Longreach, Tambo and Quilpie.
The yarding was also drawn as far afield as Cloncurry and Julia Creek.
