A reduced yarding with just over 5,900 head of cattle offloaded at the Roma Saleyards Tuesday Sale.
The market responded to the quality presented across the day with all regular processors, feedlotters, and backgrounders actively bidding in a competitive market.
Drawn predominantly from the local supply district, the yarding featured an abundance of pens from the Maranoa including Injune, Wallumbilla, Mitchell and surrounds.
Multiple runs of cattle were also consigned from western and northern Queensland including Winton and Quilpie as well as down south to Goondiwindi.
The wide selection and quality of cattle on offer once again solidified Roma Saleyards as the marketplace of choice.
Lowan Hills Pastoral offloaded a line of Santa Gertrudis cross steers and heifers at today’s sale.
Vendor Jeffrey Gobbert averaged 560c/kg for his Santa Gertrudis cross steers weighing 254kg for a return of $1,423/hd.
Four pens of Santa Gertrudis cross steers fetched a straight 564c/kg to weigh 261kg for an average return of $1,468/hd.
Based out of Mitchell, two pens of the Lowan Hills Santa Gertrudis heifers made a straight 442c/kg to weigh 259kg to make $1,136/hd.

Calioran Pastoral Co and Calco offloaded an extensive run of Droughtmaster cross and Angus cross heifers for an average 385c/kg weighing in at 330kg for a return of $1,272/hd.
A pen of Angus cross heifers fetched a top of 436c/kg to weigh 350kg for a return of $1,525/hd.
Operating out of Rolleston, a further pen of Droughtmaster cross heifers made 383c/kg to weigh 323kg to make $1,235/hd.

Arbroath Grazing continued its turnoff with another run of Simmental cross steers fresh off the oats.
Fetching an average 425c/kg to weigh 755kg for a return of $3,207/hd.
Two pens of Simmental cross steers made 436c/kg weighing in at 741kg to average $3,232/hd.
