While this week’s sale saw a cooler morning as the temperatures dropped at the Roma Saleyards, cattle numbers were on the rise with an increase of over 2,500 head recorded on the previous week’s Tuesday sale.

The regular buyers, feedlotters and backgrounders were in attendance and competing for over 6,400 head of cattle, with the quality and selection of them once again solidifying the Roma Saleyards as the marketplace of choice.

Across the Sunshine State, cattle were drawn from the western regions of Blackall, Morven, Quilpie, Tambo and Windorah, as well as from Dulacca, Condamine, Hannaford, Meandarra and Miles in the east.

Within the Maranoa supply district, consignments were sourced from Injune, Mitchell, Roma, Surat and Yuleba, and from the southern areas of Queensland cattle came from Bollon, Dirranbandi and St George.

On par with previous weeks’ sales, cattle travelled up from further south to go under the hammer, with this week once again seeing cattle consigned from Coonamble in New South Wales.
