The recent wet weather may have resulted in a reduced yarding of just over 2,100 head consigned to go under the hammer at this week’s sale, but it didn’t deter from the strong market.
The Roma Saleyards can be solidified as the marketplace of choice, with many of the regular buyers, feedlotters and backgrounders present and competing for the yarding which hailed from Queensland and New South Wales.
Across the Maranoa supply district, cattle were drawn from areas such as Injune, Mitchell, Roma and Surat.
The yarding was also consigned from further afield, to western and southern regions including Adavale, Aramac, Charleville, Cunnamulla, Tambo and Wyandra in western Queensland, and Goodooga in New South Wales.
